Learn How To Round

Rounding is part of the ancient Vedic tradition and it has been designed to deepen your meditation experience.

What is a round

A “round” is a short sequence of yoga postures and a soothing breathing technique that prepares us for a more restful meditation.

When you add these two simple components before sitting for meditation, you can experience a more grounded and profound meditation experience and remove deeper levels of stress from your physiology.

This technique is great for meditators who feel like their schedules/days are non-stop and would like to pause and give their nervous systems a reset and reboot. Rounding is a technique I encourage every Vedic Meditator to learn.

Learning how to round is also a pre-requisite for the Exploring the Veda advanced knowledge course.

How does a full round look like

A full round takes approximately 50 minutes:

  • 10-15 minutes of gentle asanas, or stretches, that anyone could do (no prior experience required)

  • 5 minute of pranayma breathing

  • 20 minutes of Vedic meditation

  • 5-10 minutes laying down

One must live two hundred percent of life, one hundred percent of life in the outside material field and one hundred percent of life in the inner spiritual Being which is eternal Bliss Consciousness. […] Both should be lived. This is the purpose of the Vedas.
